Meet out Staff
Senior Pastor
Pastor Jeremiah Lewis is a Licensed Local Pastor with the United Methodist Church.
Pastor Jeremiah Lewis was born in South Bend, Indiana on December 20, 1983 to Howard and Inez Lewis. Together his parents raised four children with Jeremiah being the middle child. He has two older siblings that are twins and a younger sister. Pastor Lewis credits his parents for giving all of their children a strong work ethic and a powerful foundation built on the Word of God. Howard and Inez traveled the country with their four children doing children's ministry. For many years they packed a 16 passenger van and went on a mission to change the world. This was instrumental in Jeremiah's call to ministry.
Knowing the hand of God was in his life from birth, at the age of 14 he began to seek mentors that could help mold and shape him into the man God has called him to be. Pastor Jeremiah accepted his first pastoral ministry position at age 24 and has continued to serve in a pastoral capacity for the past 15 yrs. His most recent charge was Zoar and Sharon UMC west of Xenia, OH.
Pastor Jeremiah is a Licensed Local Pastor which means he is a dual career pastor. During the week, Jeremiah is a full- time Intervention Specialist for a public charter school in the inner city of Dayton, Ohio. Pastor Jeremiah holds a Bachelor's degree from Wright State University in Organizational Leadership and a Master's degree from North Central University in Special Education.
Pastor Lewis celebrates 12 yrs of marriage to his beautiful wife Brittany Lewis, who is a school-based social worker at a public charter school in the inner city of Dayton. The pride and joy of the Lewis household is Mr. Kingston Micheal Lewis (Little Man) who celebrated his 3rd birthday in March. Pastor Jeremiah Lewis is excited to join Memorial United Methodist Church. Jeremiah grew up less then 15 minutes away from Memorial UMC so he is quite familiar with the area.
Pastor Lewis is ready to change the world, one person at a time!
Music Director
Jeanette Filburn Eakins serves as our Music Director. Music has always been an important part of her life. Growing up, everyone in her family (multi-generational) played at least one instrument and they often had family jam sessions. She met her husband when they were both Choir Directors attending a Singing Fest. Jenette’s degree is in Music Education. She spent several years teaching at both public and private schools. However, most of her music career has been as a Choir Director/pianist/organist. In addition to her position here at Memorial, she is Director for two German Club Choruses. Music is a gift from God, and she is committed to using this gift to serve in worship of Him.
Ministry Assistant and Treasurer
Jan Patterson serves as our Administrative Assistant and Treasurer. She began attending Memorial in June of 2006. Since that time, she has been a member of the choir, bell choir, Fidelis Sunday School and Trustees. When she retired from her (outside) job in 2018, she became the Ministry Assistant and Treasurer.
In her spare time, she enjoys reading, crocheting and trying new crafts as well as playing with her two granddaughters.
